Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use Renovate for Sale?
The scheme is designed for owners of unencumbered properties (no mortgage or debt).
Typically our clients are people who have inherited properties, or are property developers..
If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact us and we will assess your situation to see if your property qualifies and how much value could be added.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. The full renovation is funded by us. Costs and a small success fee (20% of the uplift minus the renovation cost) are only deducted after the property is sold.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary depending on the work required, but most projects are completed within a few months, and the property is sold shortly after.
Do I need to manage the renovation myself?
Not at all. This is a hands-off service, Renovate for Sale manages contractors, surveyors, estate agents, and the entire process for you.
What if I live far away or abroad?
No problem. Communication is handled remotely via email, phone, and video calls, so you stay informed every step of the way.
Will the renovation really increase the property’s value?
Our team of specialists will create a tailored plan designed to maximise the property’s market value, often resulting in significant profit for the owners. That’s why your adviser will begin by reviewing the estate in detail, explaining the likely costs and timeframes upfront, so there are no surprises later.
Why shouldn’t I just put the property up for auction?
Many solicitors and estate administrators suggest auction as a “quick” solution — but in reality, it often means losing a huge portion of your property’s true value. Properties that need work attract developers looking for bargains, not families looking for homes.
When you sell at auction, you’re effectively letting someone else profit from your property’s potential. With Renovate for Sale, you get that profit instead – by making the property mortgageable, attractive to buyers, and sold at its full market value. In some cases, clients have earned tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds more than they would have through auction.
